After getting upset with my old desktop setup, I purchased a monitor display stand. It's a beautiful setup.

After as you can see here, my primary monitor was on top of my subwoofer of my Cyber Acoustics 2.1 speaker set (19.99 at Best Buy on sale - pretty good sound for the price). My television tuner was pinned under my wireless router to keep the cable line from pushing it up. My secondary monitor/television viewer is on the extreme right, on top of the case. And on the extreme left in my Canon Pixma iP5200 printer with my el cheapo canon scanner. It was a chaotic mess.

My solution - purchasing a rather expensive ($50 to $70) monitor rig. I, being the frugal shopper my mom raised me as, waited until I saw it cheap on ebay from a seller who didn't know what they had. Thus, I got it for well, well below retail price. After removing the old bases from my VESA compliant monitors, I mounted them with the provided screws and latches in the cables into the clasps. With all this space available, I kicked my subwoofer under my desk. Shuffling things around it ended up being great!

If you know me at all, you know that I am a geek of not only the social order, but the academic order as well. I love learning about new things and my choice in profession reflects that. In the world of engineering things are always changing and while our methods may seem static and sedentary, there are always new advances being made in manufacturing and materials that require reappraisal of the accepted methodology.

Stories and things that I find particularly interesting will be placed here.
